Elle met en avant le caractère écologique de ce mode d’alimentation. At the origin of this innovation, the biotech company InnovaFeed which opened the world’s largest insect farm in the Somme earlier this year. It highlights the ecological nature of this mode of feeding. And for good reason, « substituting insect-based animal feed for current plant foods (especially soybeans) would have the great interest of reducing deforestation, » the Senate delegation explained in a report published two weeks ago. According to InnovaFeed, insect oil has an 80% lower carbon impact than soybean oil.
